This is a presentation on communication. Its intent is to impart something to the audience that will sustain them over the long term, not just for a few hours or days, until life gets in the way and crowds out everything else. It uses a style of training called entertrainment -- training by entertaining. It starts with a cost/benefit discussion -- the costs of poor communication, and the benefits of good communication. Then it goes into some of the many different aspects of communication. Finally it covers several of the techniques documented in BABOK® Guide V3 Sections 9.4 (Communication Skills) and 9.5 (Interaction Skills). One of these techniques is presentation skills, so the pressure is on the presenter to set a good example! About the Speaker: Bill has spent his entire professional career in the field of Information Technology, working for multiple industries and in various positions, including technical roles, staff management, sales, client relationship management, and training. Communication has played a key part in all of these positions, as it does with everything we all do, in both our professional and personal lives. Bill was formerly a Business Analyst at The Hartford, and then at Chubb Specialty Insurance. Although currently retired, Bill teaches a Business Analysis class at Manchester Community College. Bill is an avid film buff, which partially explains why he chose a famous movie line as the title of this presentation.
